Portsmouth Naval Memorial
Situated on Southsea Common, the memorial is an impressive structure which commemorates naval dead from both wars. More

Memorial as seen from the common, the lower curve of panels in the foreground are the Second World War dead, whilst the first World War dead are on the panels around the base of the column in year order.

View from within the WWII enclosure, the panels are grouped to cover different naval sections ands units. Note the personal tributes in front of some of the panels, these are from friends and relatives of the men on the panels.

This view shows detail from one of the WWI panels, each panel is set out by year, then lists the personnel in rank order, this panel is for cooks mates.
